Notes
Match 9: Atlanta vs. Boston
• Justin Thomas is back. This is his first formalized golfing effort since undergoing off-season surgery (he has yet to play either TGL or on the PGA Tour so far in 2026), and his return comes at a key time in the TGL calendar.
• Atlanta Drive GC saw its nine-match winning streak come to an end earlier this month as it lost to Jupiter Links Golf Club 8-6.
• Thomas will be paired up with Patrick Cantlay and Chris Gotterup against Boston Common. Gotterup has won twice already this season on the PGA Tour, having captured the Sony Open in Hawaii and the WM Phoenix Open. Gotterup is set to play against Rory McIlroy in singles.
• Boston Common remains the only undefeated team in TGL in season two. Boston is also in a prime position to clinch a playoff berth if it defeats Atlanta in regulation Monday night.
• Boston leads TGL in a handful of key categories, including driving accuracy and average driving distance. Boston has also gone from worst to first in short putt efficiency between seasons one and two.
• McIlroy will be joined by Keegan Bradley and Michael Thorbjornsen for the match against the defending champions. Thorbjornsen has been a star with the flatstick this season, the big difference-maker for Boston in its first two matches.
Match 10: Los Angeles vs. Atlanta
• Atlanta returns to action for the second of two matches Monday night, which will mark Atlanta’s final regular-season match of season two.
• Patrick Cantlay will play both matches, while Lucas Glover and Billy Horschel will replace Justin Thomas and Chris Gotterup, respectively, for the second match of the day.
• Atlanta’s success in the first season was really wrapped in how well they played singles and how they managed their hammer throws. That has continued into season two as it leads TGL in holes won and points won in singles while sitting second in hammers won.
• Los Angeles is trotting out a stacked team, with all three of its team members currently sitting in the top five of the Official World Golf Ranking — Tommy Fleetwood (No. 3), Justin Rose (No. 4), and Collin Morikawa (No. 5).
• Rose and Morikawa have won two of the last three PGA Tour events contested, with Morikawa breaking a multi-year winless drought and capturing the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
• Los Angeles is hoping for a repeat from earlier this season — and a bounce back from a loss after getting downed by The Bay Golf Club 11-5 on Feb. 9.
• Atlanta vs. LAGC was one of the best matches of the first season of TGL, with Atlanta defeating Los Angeles 6-5 in overtime.

How it works
Within a match, there will be two sessions played in two different formats
• Triples – nine holes – Three players per team competing in an alternate-shot format.
• Singles – six holes – One-on-one, head-to-head competition for the entire hole. Each player from each team plays a total of two full holes during the session.
• Overtime – If the match is tied after 15 holes, the teams will play a best-of-three, closest-to-the-pin competition to decide the winner. This will be similar to penalty kicks in soccer.
• The hole location and orientation of the green will remain unchanged from the final/15th hole of the match.
• The shot distance will be between 25 and 50 yards and will be decided pre-match by the match official. All players will play from the same spot. The ball must finish on the putting surface to be eligible.
Standings
For each match, teams can be awarded up to 2 points towards their regular-season total based on the following:
• Win in regulation = 2 points
• Win in overtime = 2 points
• Loss in overtime = 1 point
• Loss in regulation = 0 points
